Peckham Rye Park’s new sports facilities

We’re delighted to have been involved in the delivery of Southwark Council’s new sports and playroom facilities at Peckham Rye Park. It’s great to hear that it is already being well used by the Southwark Allstars Under 10s and 11s soccer teams and other local groups.

The project is part of Southwark’s ‘Revitalise Peckham Rye’ programme and maximises the mature trees and historic setting of the Listed Victorian parkland. The new building, which wraps around a protected horse chestnut tree, is formed of a CLT and Glulam frame designed, supplied and installed by G-frame Structures.

A pitched roof provides a sheltered external walkway and access to the changing rooms and playroom. Internal rooms link to the sports pitches and an outdoor play space for younger children.  CLT is a robust, low maintenance material suitable for community and sports applications and internally much of the CLT has been left exposed.
