Sports and play facilities for iconic London park
New sports and playroom facilities, changing rooms, store and plant room for Peckham Rye Park as part of Southwark Council’s ‘Revitalise Peckham Rye’ programme. The Victorian parkland is Listed by Historic England and the new building has been designed to maximise the value of the Park’s mature trees and historic setting. The building wraps around an existing protected Horse Chestnut Tree and the pitched roof provides a sheltered external walkway allowing access to the changing rooms and playroom. Internal rooms link to the sports pitches and an outdoor play space for younger children. G-frame Structures were responsible for the design, supply and erection of the CLT & Glulam frame, much of which has been left exposed internally.
